MXR EVH Phase 90

Edward Van Halen earned his spot in the guitar tone hall of fame with the first note on his debut album in 1978. The guitar work on that album still boggles minds more than 25 years later. The tones that EVH got on that classic record are among the greatest ever, and a huge part of Eddie‘s guitar sound has always been the MXR Phase 90. The Phase 90 contributed to the unbelievable tones on “Eruption,” “Ain't Talkin' ‘Bout Love,” “On Fire,” and “Atomic Punk,” plus many other timeless Van Halen tracks.

Now you can grab a piece of Eddie's magic with the new MXR EVH 90—a collaboration between Eddie Van Halen and Dunlop Manufacturing that represents a totally redesigned, updated version of the legendary Phase 90. The EVH 90 will give you the same great spacey swirls and hypnotic warbles that made the Phase 90 famous. But the EVH 90 also features the all-new Script switch that lets you instantly toggle between a vintage, “Script Logo” phase tone and a more modern, in-your-face “Block Logo” phaser. Plus, the EVH 90 sports the greatest graphics in the history of rock: the red, white, and black stripes from Eddie's legendary Frankenstein guitar. Oh yeah—it's also got a bitchin' new blue LED. Now, how cool is that?

MXR ZW-44 WYLDE OVERDRIVE

mxrphase90.gif - 23704 BytesWhether on his groundbreaking work with Ozzy Osbourne or with his own
Black Label Society, Zakk Wylde's guitar playing is loud, tough, and relentless.
Zakk's take-no-prisoners attitude extends to his quest for tone, too. When he
wanted to develop his signature overdrive pedal, he looked no further than
Dunlop. The result is the new Wylde Overdrive. This muscular stompbox will
turn your clean amp into a heavy, chunky crunch machine. Or, use it like Zakk
does and kick it in front of a dirty amp for a screaming, sustaining lead tone.
The three simple controls—Output, Tone, and Drive—make getting up and running easy, so you can concentrate on the business at hand: kicking major ass.

Power: Single 9-volt battery or Dunlop ECB-003 AC Adapter

MXR DD-11 Dime® Distortion

mxrphase90.gif - 23704 BytesWhen Dimebag Darrell of Pantera first exploded on the scene, he ushered in a new era of tone and attitude. When it comes to guitar, Dime doesn’t need a “warm” or “pretty” sound. He can’t be bothered with “vintage” this or “boutique” that. He wants a heavy, aggressive, razor-sharp tone that can slice through a loud band and a louder crowd. It’s a tone that rages with distortion but remains tight and focused enough to keep up with lightening-fast rhythm lines and face-melting solos.

Finally there’s a pedal that can deliver all that: the The Dime® Distortion from MXR. With its 3-band EQ, proprietary Scoop switch, and ungodly output, this stomp box from Hell has the guts and the muscle to stand up to your heaviest displays of power. Crank the gain, boost the lows and highs, and hit the Scoop switch for a rhythm tone that will annihilate. Dial the mids back in and mow down the competition with a lead sound that can penetrate steel. If it still hasn’t gotten heavy enough for you, stick the Dime in front of a distorted amp and experience sustain and sonic mayhem that’s so over the top it should come with a warning label. The Dime® Distortion—not subtle, not pretty.
Bring it on.

MXR M-151 Double Shot Distortion

There was a time when the MXR Distortion+ was the only distortion box that mattered. It was seen on stages worldwide and heard on hundreds of timeless recordings. Building on that proud history, MXR introduces an instant classic, the M-151 Double-Shot Distortion. With two distinct channels, huge output, and incredibly quiet operation, this pedal redefines what a distortion box should be. Dial in blues-approved grind or thick, old-school lead tones on one side. Then, with the touch of a button, call up bottom-heavy modern metal sounds or radically-EQ’ed future fuzz.

But the options don’t stop there. Independent gain and EQ controls give you complete control over both sides of this pedal’s split personality. You can set up the Double-Shot to go from an in-the-pocket chord part to an over-the-top lead line. Or toggle between two unique solo tones. Or switch between two drastically different rhythm tones. Get all your gain from the pedal or use its massive output to get screaming overdrive from your amp. And no matter how dirty you run the Double-Shot, all the subtle details and dynamics of your playing will come through. If you can imagine it, the Double-Shot can make it a reality—a gloriously distorted reality.

M-101 PHASE 90

This device has found its way into many of Eddie Van Halen's recordings, adding a shimmery velocity to lead passages or a more dramatic swoosh to muted strumming. This phaser is not just designed for guitars; it works well with bass, keyboards and even vocals and appears in all of these guises on Dweezil Zappa's Z album, 'Music For Pets', which hints it is flexible and hip. Although the intensity is fixed, it is possible to vary the speed from a subtle, long cycle to a fast, watery warble and a miriad of vintage vibrations in between. DEMO (Real Audio)

The M-102 Dyna Comp is a compressor that allows you to set an output level and the sensitivity at which it kicks in. This device can produce that percussive, clicky sound on a clean guitar - the mainstay of 80s pop players - or a mellow sustain for lead work. The M-102 is designed to capture the sound and performance of the originals which it does with an authentic vintage flavor. Rack spotters may have noticed several Dyna Comps in Dave Gilmour's monster system. DEMO (Real Audio)

This unassuming little box shovels out enough low frequencies to frighten a blue whale. It takes your guitarsignal, fuzzes it up, then duplicates it two octaves down. You can control the output and also the mixbetween the dry signal and the effect. Using it 100% wet is quite an experience, but more recognizable sounds will appear as the dry signal increases. The Blue Box is known for having a somewhat chaotic persona that can make each session of use a totally unique experience as this little monster can make it difficult to guess what is about to emerge from your amp. Trent Reznor uses these for his particular brand of industrial metal. DEMO (Real Audio)

mxrdistort.gif - 23986 BytesM-104 DISTORTION+

Within the central areas of the Output and Distortion controls of the M-104 are some soft, clipped distortions that sound truly authentic, especially with a splash of reverb. Pushing the Distortion level up high produces some classic fuzz tones that are finding their way onto an increasing number of albums, in line with the current retro fascination. This distortion is an enjoyable alternative from LA saturation and thick, British crunch. The distortion can be tamed by using it with a warm crunch/overdrive sound as a base for some hip Hendrix sounds, and also to emulate Randy Rhoads' favorite deployment of his Distortion+. If you're addicted to the indispensable juice of a high gain amp or a string of stomp boxes, you need this pedal. Because along with your hot-wired tones, you're probably getting a generous helping of noise. With its uncanny ability to sense precisely when -and how fast -to engage, this little genius will never get in your way, so you can wring every last bit of sustain out of that chord without being cut off.
Originally designed by Scholz Research and Development, the Smart Gate has been completely updated with a hardwire bypass, precise threshold trigger, and new cleaner circuitry. DCB-10 DC BRICK

The DC Brick is the most reliable and consistent way to power your effects board. Forget the collection of unsightly wall warts ... the DC Brick will drive ten pedals or stomp boxes from the same source! More than a power supply, this box is a power conditioner as well. Unlike aging batteries, the Brick supplies predictable voltage at all times, keeping your effects consistent from show to show. Its FCLC (Foldback Current Limiting Circuit) provides ultimate protection against power shorts and overloads. Even at full load, you'll enjoy the quiet and cool operation of a fully regulated power supply. But since battery-powered effects rarely exceed 30 milliamps each, you're not likely to use anywhere near the Brick‘s capacity of 1000 milliamps output!

Power: Included AC power adapter can utilize a wide range of international wall power from 100 to 240 volts, at 47 to 63 Hz. Supplied with U.S. plug.

Controls: - Power Input from AC Adapter (Use only the included adapter!)

  • Three 18V outputs can handle an average of 208 milliamps each, or a total of 625 milliamps in any configuration
  • All outputs may be used simultaneously for a total power output of up to 1000 milliamp
