Pete was nice enough to send us some TB83s and TB83 Extras.
Unfortunatly that's all we have and we do not know when more is coming though we hope soon !

TB-83

This is the original Pete Cornish Treble Boost designed and built by him from the early 1970s and still in production. This is the original version supplied to Brian May and can be heard on all Queen recordings. Pete is still using the same artwork for the circuit board and identical components are sourced from the original suppliers. Each pedal is individually hand made by Pete and Lynda Cornish from the etching of the circuit board through to the testing of the finished unit. No other person is involved in the production.

TB-83™ Technical Info

1) The TB-83™ was originally designed to be the interface between Burns Tri-Sonic pickups and the “Normal” input on vintage (pre Treble Boost) Vox AC30 amplifiers.

2) Each TB-83 is individually numbered, signed and dated internally which provides full traceability and history.

3) Due to the modular design of the TB-83™ all parts are replaceable if they become damaged. Please contact us if you wish to purchase replacement parts.

4) The active circuitry is potted in semi-flexible resin as vital protection: a) against environmental conditions which can cause unwanted changes to the electronic circuitry and b) to eliminate the possibility of microphonic feedback that can occur when high gain devices are used in close proximity to amplifiers at full volume. Glass fibre PCBs are prone to resonant vibrations and our use of dense potting material increases the mass of the circuit board to place any possible resonances outside the audio frequency spectrum.

5) The maximum output of the TB-83™ is +10dBm and the measured output noise with a 10Kohms source impedance is -82dBm giving a signal to noise ratio of 92dB.

6) Battery life: current consumption is low (approximately 540µA) and the supplied Duracell “Procell” MN1604 should last up to 500 hours before noticeable loss of signal occurs. When it is apparent that the battery requires replacement remove the four Pozidrive #2 screws from the base plate, unclip the battery (noting carefully how the battery is located in the case) and fit the new one. Take care not to trap the battery wires under the base plate when it is reinstalled.

7) Supplied free with each TB-83™ is an old (now obsolete) English Sixpence piece. This coin is the type used by Brian May as a guitar plectrum.

TB-83 Extra

This is the second Pete Cornish Treble Boost designed and built by him from the early 1970s and still in production. It is one of the original versions supplied to Brian May and can be heard on Queen recordings. Pete is still using the same artwork for the circuit board and identical components are sourced from the original suppliers. Each pedal is individually hand made by Pete and Lynda Cornish from the etching of the circuit board through to the testing of the finished unit. No other person is involved in the production.

The TB-83 EXTRA™ was designed to compliment the already in-line TB-83™; for solos and other artistic reasons the TB-83™ boost was required to be louder and with more “bite” to bring it above other instruments in the live or recorded mix. There are two ways in which the TB-83™ and the TB-83 EXTRA™ may be connected to bring out this extra benefit:

1) Guitar into TB-83™ in; TB-83™ out to TB-83 EXTRA™ in; TB-83 EXTRA™ out to amp in. TB-83 EXTRA™ volume control may be used to match the   level when the TB-83 EXTRA™ is engaged and the additional treble boost will allow you to “cut through” the mix.

2) Guitar into TB-83 EXTRA™ in; TB-83 EXTRA™ out to TB-83™ in; TB-83™ out to amp in. The TB-83 EXTRA™ volume control now has a completely different function: it allows complete control over the “drive” into the TB-83™ input with a huge range of different sustain and harmonically rich distortion products. The overall volume, however, will remain virtually constant but the new singing tone will delight and excite you.

G-2

The Pete Cornish G-2 has been hailed as the most original sounding distortion unit available to guitarists in the Rock Arena. It has a four stage overdriven discrete transistor Class A circuit with additional Germanium components that generate much warmer sounding harmonics than anything else on the market. Within the huge tone generated by this unit, the original guitar sound and dynamics are present creating a much more musical effect than any other distortion pedal.

The input to this unique device is our universally acclaimed High Impedance, Unity Gain, Class A, Buffer Preamp with it's superior RFI rejecting capability (to eliminate Radio Station interference) and Low Impedance Audio output, allowing the use of extended cable runs from the G-2 in bypass mode. The fixed High Impedance load presented to the Guitar allows the pickups to operate at their optimum, even when several effects units are connected after the G-2. The Unity Gain Buffer also prevents "Ghost Distortion" being audible in Bypass Mode. This effect unit gets the most benefit from being fed into a clean, full frequency response amplifier and I recommend that when you receive your pedal you connect it up without anything else in line, just Guitar/Pedal/Amp, and discover the way the controls interact, both with themselves and the guitar/amp controls. Then adding the rest of your effects, you may find that you need to make slight adjustments to these as they are now being fed with a constant signal when the G-2 is in Bypass Mode.

FEATURES:

  • High Impedance RFI rejecting input and bypass buffer.
  • Each unit is hand built, wired and tested by Pete and Lynda Cornish.
  • Housed in a Rugged Die-cast box with ‘Chicken-Head' pointer knobs.
  • Heavy Duty all-metal footswitch with Hi-Brite, low power consumption LED.
  • Easy battery replacement via the ‘drawer'. The battery is switched on when you insert the “IN/PWR” jack and to ensure long battery life unplug this lead when the unit is not in use. If the unit is not to be used for a long length of time we recommend that you remove the battery. Preferred battery type is Alkaline. The power consumption is very low: only 3mA in bypass mode and 4mA when the activated thus ensuring extended battery life.
  • Also fitted is an input for a DC adaptor: the size of the coax connector is 5.5/2.1mm and the centre pin is negative (-VE). The voltage rating of the adaptor should be noise free, fully stabilised at 9.6V and capable of supplying 20mA. We recommend the use of the BOSS PSA series adaptors (PSA-100/110/220 or 240 depending on your local AC supply voltage) as meeting the above criteria and cannot accept any liability for damage caused to this unit by the use of any other type of AC/DC adaptor.

SS-3
Replaces the SS-2

The Pete Cornish SS-3 satisfies a tremendous void in the Musicians palette of tone colors. Totally different from any overdrive/distortion effect that has ever been previously available; it is amazingly responsive to changes in both Guitar volume and picking articulation. It has the best “bottom end retention” ever heard in an effect, whilst the mid-range is sweet and very transparent. The SS-3 retains all the tonal nuances of your guitar and is subtle and yet capable of amazing power and sustain. Using the SS-3 with a clean amp it is possible to progress from subtle overdriven amp sounds, through rhythmic crunch, up to a blues' lead. The tonal characteristics and dynamics of the guitar are maintained even when using this pedal at its maximum gain.

The input to this unique device is our universally acclaimed High Impedance, Unity Gain, Class A, Buffer Preamp with it's superior RFI rejecting capability (to eliminate Radio Station interference) and Low Impedance Audio output, allowing the use of extended cable runs from the SS-3 in bypass mode. The fixed High Impedance load presented to the Guitar allows the pickups to operate at their optimum, even when several effects units are connected after the SS-3. Then adding the rest of your effects, you may find that you need to make slight adjustments to these as they are now being fed with a constant signal when the SS-3 is in Bypass Mode.

  • The power consumption is very low: only 4mA in bypass mode and 5mA when the activated thus ensuring extended battery life.
  • Also fitted is an input for a DC adaptor: the size of the coax connector is 5.5/2.1mm and the centre pin is negative (-VE). The voltage rating of the adaptor should be noise free, fully stabilized at 9.6V and capable of supplying 20mA. We recommend the use of the BOSS PSA series adaptors (PSA-100/110/220 or 240 depending on your local AC supply voltage) as meeting the above criteria and cannot accept any liability for damage caused to this unit by the use of any other type of AC/DC adaptor.

NG-2

In the range of generally available fuzz boxes covering a scale from 1 through 10 , this one goes to 15 ! Specifically designed to simulate “Imminent Amp Death” this custom built unit features several separate stages so that the user may tune it to his or her own degree of ‘I.A.D.'.

The first stage is a Linear DRIVE with up to +26dB of gain feeding the second stage; a stabilized “Germanium” preamp which overloads smoothly when overdriven. The third stage is where the NG magic takes place; it simulates a tube amp that has been over biased or has suffered serious tube or output transformer failure (The sound just before the fuse blows). The SUSTAIN control adjusts the signal level into the third section and can be adjusted from ‘Tired Output Tubes' to ‘Melted Tubes and Shorted Output Transformer'.

TONE and VOLUME controls complete the ensemble to allow matching to your bypassed signal. To glory in the sound of this pedal feed it into an amp capable of delivering huge amounts of clean, pure tone into your speakers.

FEATURES:

  • RFI rejecting input and bypass buffer.
  • Each unit is hand built, wired and tested by Pete and Lynda Cornish.
  • Housed in a Rugged Die-cast box with ‘Chicken-Head' pointer knobs.
  • Heavy Duty Custom made all-metal footswitch with Hi-Brite LED.
  • Easy battery replacement via ‘drawer'. The battery is switched on when you insert the “INPUT / PWR ON” jack and to ensure long battery life unplug this lead when the unit is not in use. If the unit is not to be used for a long length of time we recommend that you remove the battery.
  • Preferred battery type is MN1604.
  • Also fitted is an input for a DC adaptor: the size of the connector is M2.1 and the tip is negative (-VE). LD-1 Line Driver/Tuner/Mute

Our low noise discrete component Class A pre-amplifier has been specifically designed to overcome the problems often encountered with amplification of Electric Instruments fitted with magnetic transducers.

A frequent cause of these problems is the mismatch of the impedance in the electrical circuit between the pickup and subsequent equipment: this mismatch has been completely eliminated with the introduction of our LD-1™ Line Driver.

The input impedance is identical to a high quality tube amplifier and our Class A Pre-amplifier also features a highly effective RF filter which will help prevent interference from nearby radio transmitters.

The pickup output should be connected directly to the LD-1™ input with a low loss, screened cable; the LD-1™ output can now be fed to any effects or volume pedals (if used) and then on to the amplifier, using fully screened cables throughout.

A further use of the LD-1™ is to isolate long cable feeds which can cause signal and tone losses at the end of an effects chain, particularly if the final effect has a high impedance output (for instance a 250KW foot volume pedal). When using many effects it can be beneficial to add a LD-1™ mid way along the chain thus preventing a build up of signal losses that can occur with mismatched impedances between effects.

POWER SUPPLY:

The battery is replaceable via the removable “drawer” and we recommend alkaline types. The battery is switched on when you insert the “IN / PWR” jack and to ensure long battery life unplug this lead when the unit is not in use. If the unit is not to be used for a long length of time, we recommend that you remove the battery. Preferred battery types are MN1604. P-2

The P-2 's full, bright sound cuts through the mix effortlessly. This pedal was the recipient of the Editor's Pick Award from Guitar Player Magazine and received the following review: "The Pete Cornish P-2 delivers extremely fat, smooth, and harmonically rich distortion tones, ranging from a relatively mellow crunch to searing high-gain sustain.  The pedal is also extraordinarily responsive to playing dynamics, cleans up nicely with even slight guitar volume adjustments, and it provides nearly uncanny single-note definition within chords. Finally, it can crank out insane amounts of gain. Astonishing!  Extremely fat tone, quiet, great dynamics, infinite sustain, exceptional chord definition".

The input to this unique device is our universally acclaimed High Impedance, Unity Gain, Class A, Buffer Preamp with it's superior RFI rejecting capability (to eliminate Radio Station interference) and Low Impedance Audio output, allowing the use of extended cable runs from the P-2 in bypass mode. The fixed High Impedance load presented to the Guitar allows the pickups to operate at their optimum, even when several effects units are connected after the P-2. Then adding the rest of your effects, you may find that you need to make slight adjustments to these as they are now being fed with a constant signal when the P-2 is in Bypass Mode.

FEATURES:

  • High Impedance RFI rejecting input and bypass buffer.
  • Each unit is hand built, wired and tested by Pete and Lynda Cornish.
  • Housed in a Rugged Die-cast box with ‘Chicken-Head' pointer knobs.

Boost/Mute/Tuner Feed

Originally designed as an integral part of each Pete Cornish Custom Pedalboard and Rack System, Pete's Linear Boost allows a boost in volume, without any tonal alteration, to lift a player's solo above the background sound level.

It is important to note that for maximum linear boosting the unit should be connected just before the input of a clean amplifier and after any effects units. If the amplifier has a distorted (Lead) channel it would be beneficial to connect the Linear Boost after the preamp section and just before the power amp input (an effects loop in the amplifier may be the best way of achieving this). The BOOST footswitch on this unit is not a bypass switch; when the indicator light is OFF the unit acts as a unity gain buffer amplifier with high signal level capability and can drive long cables without tonal loss. When the indicator light is ON your pre-selected amount of boost (up to +27dB) will be available at the output of the unit. There is no tonal change or phase shift to the boosted signal.

In addition an isolated Tuner Feed is incorporated which sends a unity gain, mirror image of the guitar signal to a tuner. The setting of the Boost control and the position of the Boost and Mute switches do not alter the signal sent to the permanently active Tuner Feed.

The MUTE function may be activated at any time, whether or not the Boost is engaged, and will totally shut down the audio path to the main output.

FEATURES:

  • Four Functions: Line Driver, Linear Boost, Isolated Tuner Feed and System Mute in one convenient package: compact size 171 X 121 X 55mm .
  • Each unit, housed in a Rugged Die-cast box is hand built, wired and tested by Pete and Lynda Cornish.
  • Heavy Duty all-metal footswitches with Hi-Brite LEDs.
  • Easy battery replacement via a removable ‘drawer'. The battery is switched on when you insert the “INPUT / PWR ON” jack and to ensure long battery life unplug this lead when the unit is not in use. If the unit is not to be used for a long length of time we recommend that you remove the battery. Preferred battery type is MN1604. Also fitted is an input for a DC adaptor: the size of the connector is M2.1 and the tip is negative (-VE). The voltage rating of the adaptor should be fully stabilised at 9.6V and capable of supplying 20mA. We recommend the use of the BOSS PSA series adaptors (PSA-100/110/220 or 240 depending on your local AC supply voltage) as meeting the above criteria and cannot accept any liability for damage caused to this unit by the use of any other type of AC/DC adaptor.

IMPORTANT NOTE (2005):

This unit has now been upgraded to Dual Voltage. The voltage of the DC supply does not affect the Boost gain. Using a 9.6vDC adaptor (Boss PSA series or similar) the performance will be identical to when Battery powered. Using a fully smoothed and regulated AC/DC adaptor with an output voltage of 18vDC Maximum, and capable of supplying 20mA, the signal performance of the unit will be as show below. Please do not use an adaptor with a higher output voltage than the specified 18vDC maximum, or of reversed polarity, as it may damage the unit and such damage will not be covered under the terms of our guarantee. An adaptor with an AC voltage output should NOT be used.
