Creative or Technical Playing ?

Creative or Technical ? - What is more important to be technical or to be creative in your playing ? I once had a teacher BT who said the more knowledge the more power to be creative ? But then I listed to Freddy King and think well dam that about says it all !?!?!? Balance is the key I feel, you need to have knowledge and technical ability to say whatever it is your trying to say ?
