New from Freakshow! – At first glance, ‘The Thing’ appears to be nothing more than another high gain distortion box. Then we noticed the switches inside the chassis! Switches 1 and 2 control the type of diode clipping the circuit uses. Switch 1 on engages the “hard clipping”, switch 2 engages the “soft clipping”, and switch 3 engages the “grain”. With these available options, you can make this distortion/fuzz sing in a variety of ways. Take some time trying out the different switches and eventually you will dial in some pretty amazing distortion tones. This pedal is great for loud distortion use, with lots of possible variation.
