CUSTOM TAPE ECHO
Hiwatt has released what may be the coolest product of the year. A Tape Echo unit that is 10 inches wide and 7 inches deep and 1 1/2 inches tall ! WOW. It even comes with rack ears so you may rack it in a SINGLE RACK SPACE. It has a maximum delay of 2000ms and Hiwatt guarantee of sound quality of the delay up to 1400ms. You can also create sound on sound and create tape loops! THIS THING IS F#%!%# AWESOME!
The back of the unit allows you to have a footcontrol to turn it on and off. Also you may hook up a footpedal to control the delay time remotely and loop recording. You must use your own footpedals they are not supplied. The unit also uses a automatic tape feed that stops the tape from running when no signal is coming into the unit increasing the tape life. Manual tape feed option is selectable.
Very low wow and flutter is creat by a free tape system. No drag or carts to hold it up. The front panel has input, attenuator, input volume, mode switch, echo, repeat, time, play/rec switch, LED and power.......
Musicians are tired of sterile and cold sounding digital delay units, so we went back to the classic solution…tape. Only a tape echo gives the warm, natural sounds that make your music sound richer and more exciting. The big problem with tape echo units in the past though was reliability. So, we consulted with a lot of musicians in the L.A. area, worked through a lot of prototypes until everything was right. We even threw in the ability to control the tape speed using a foot pedal for subtle or wild effects.
