PLEXI-TUBE

This two channel tube distortion pedal combines the natural warmth and harmonic generation of a 12AX7 tube with the control and saturation of our unique multi-stage solid-state drive circuit. This combination provides incredible gain with tons of overtones and, when combined with our unique passive-interactive EQ, produces four generations of Marshall Plexi tones worthy of a Shakespearian Ode.

Designed to enhance on-stage functionality, the Plexitube™ features two distinct distortion channels for on-the-fly transition between rhythm and lead settings. Channel-1 has been optimized for rhythm with chunk rhythm tones and scooped out mids for a thunderous wall-of-sound and complete world domination. Channel-2 is optimized to produce razor-sharp cut for solos and sustaining mids that are so smooth, they can make a grown man cry. This is augmented with an effects loop that can automatically turn your delay on for leads. No tap dancing!

When the Plexitube is off, true-bypass connectivity ensures the natural tone of your guitar goes directly to your amp without obstruction or a tone robbing load.

The Radial Tonebone Plexitube takes metal guitar one step beyond anything you have experienced so far. God save the Queen.!

TRI-MODE

Radial introduces the Tonebone Classic Tri-Mode, a 12AX7 equipped tube distortion pedal with true-bypass clean tone, and two distorted channels with separate input drive and output level controls. This allows the player to set-up completely different clean, rhythm and solo tones from a single pedal & amp combination. An innovative effects loop on channel-2 allows the guitarist to insert an effect such as echo automatically when soloing. Features include three position overall tone shaping and drive ranges switches, master bass and treble equalization, independent mid boost on each channel and high frequency roll-off.

In response to the demand received by Tonebone aficionados for greater flexibility on stage, Radial Engineering is pleased to introduce the Tonebone Classic Tri-Mode, a distortion pedal that features a 'true bypass' clean tone, and two separate distortion modes for rhythm and lead settings.

According to Radial President, Peter Janis: "Since we launched the Tonebone Classic, we have received countless emails from guitarists praising its amazing scope and its ability to produce tones ranging from bluesy grit right up to full-on heavy metal saturation. For players that want to switch between two tones on stage, they have had no choice but to buy two Classics to get the job done. These more demanding players have unanimously asked us to produce a 'programmable' solution that would at once give them more flexibility while reducing the space requirements on their pedalboards.

"The Classic Tri-Mode is the solution that these players have been asking for. It is akin to having a two-channel guitar amp with separate input drive and output level on each channel and in bypass mode, you also get the third 'clean tone' of the amp. With these controls, the player is able to set up a basic direct clean tone, a thick chunky tone for rhythm, and a searing power tone for soloing and can toggle between them with a single foot switching action. Just like the Tonebone Classic, the Tri-Mode cleans up like a real tube amp when the guitar volume is turned down, resulting in greater dynamics and more of the guitarist's 'personality and style' to shine through."

Like the Tonebone Classic, the Classic Tri-Mode is a 12AX7 equipped tube distortion pedal that combines a proprietary solid-state overdrive circuitry with the warmth and harmonic generation of a vacuum tube to create its distinctive amp-like character. It features two distortion channels each of which is equipped with variable input drive and output level controls plus three position selectable mid-range controls for added body and sustain for soloing. For added flexibility, channel-1 is minutely characterized with a more 'open' sound while channel-2 is more focused in the mid range to accentuate soloing.

Common controls to both channels include a three-position drive range control for low, medium and high saturation, bass and treble 'passive interactive' equalization, and a high frequency roll-off filter that lets you tame overly bright amplifiers. The overall 'character' of the Classic Tri-Mode can be set for 'dark, normal or bright' to allow the guitarist to further achieve his ideal tone.

To add even greater control, the Tri-Mode is equipped with a ¼" TRS effects insert loop on channel two whereby when channel two is engaged, and effect such as reverb or echo may be automatically activated to enhance the solo. This allows the guitarist to pre-set upcoming effects and with a single foot action. No Tap Dancing!

Amazingly compact, the Classic Tri-Mode measures a mere 8" x 5" and is constructed from 14 gauge steel for added durability and supported with a 3-year warranty.

HOT BRITISH

The Tonebone Hot British is distortion at its best! From fat hot-wired Marshall tones to the huge scooped out mid sounds, the Hot British is blistering brute force extraordinaire!

Based on high-gain amplifier designs, the Hot British is tailored to extract ultra-rich harmonics and full-on saturated tube settings without the mud or noise that is typical with other pedals. The powerful EQ settings truly allow the player to dial in to the type of tones that create everything from chunky rhythms to sizzling lead solos.

Best of all, even when pushing the Tonebone Hot British beyond the limits, the natural dynamics and feel of the player still shines through.

Drive and Level Controls

The Hot British design follows the way a guitar amplifier works whereby the input DRIVE is akin to the input channel volume, while the LEVEL control acts more like a master volume control.

The DRIVE control provides overall input gain to the distortion circuit. When used in conjunction with the EQ controls, the Hot British easily allows one to emulate the rhythm tones reminiscent of ZZ-Top, Metallica, Megadeath and Soundgarden. For soloing, the wailing tones popularized by players like Eddie Van Halen, Richie Blackmore, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Randy Rhodes are also easily attained.

Equalization and Tonal Structure

The Tonebone Hot British employs active post-distortion equalization for maximum flexibility. Tone shaping is performed with three controls and three switches thus allowing the guitarist to dial in the type of tonal structure that may be desired.

HIGH and LOW equalization are extremely active providing up to 15dB of gain control. These work in conjunction with the TOP-END, MID-BOOST and VOICING controls. Overall shaping begins with the TOP-END control with choice of Dark, Normal or Bright settings, which are used to compensate for the tonal characteristics of the amplifier.

The MID-BOOST switch is used to fatten-up single coil pick-ups or to add 'meat' to the tone for additional cut during soloing. The Hot British mid-range frequencies have been carefully selected to work with popular amplifiers like Twins and Marshalls. These settings are extremely effective at compensating for 'clean' oriented channels on classic tube amplifiers.

The three-position VOICING switch works with the CONTOUR control for radical souped-up tones. The FAT position develops huge blistering solo tones and the cut-through power to get past the noise when you have to. The V or 'scoop' position is used to cut the mids while allowing the lower and upper harmonics to remain, creating huge chunky rhythms when building a wall of sound with a solid foundation. Big.

Classic
The Tonebone Classic is their most flexible distortion pedal. With three drive settings and a variable drive control, you can dial in everything from dirt to drastic and everywhere in between.

The Classic's design is based on vintage overdrive sounds that started in the 1960's and 1970's and today remain some of the most sought after tones. The Classic is exceptionally dynamic and transparent and as such, is extremely adept at retaining your playing style and signature.

Even at high distortion settings, you can turn your guitar level down and the Classic cleans up naturally and without the noise, hum or buzz that is common with most other pedals. At higher settings, every note remains distinct and the natural tone of the instrument shines through.

Drive and Level Controls

The Tonebone Classic design follows the way a guitar amplifier works whereby the input DRIVE is akin to the input channel volume, while the LEVEL control acts more like a master volume control.

As such, the DRIVE control provides overall input gain to the distortion circuit. This works in conjunction with the 3-position DRIVE switch that controls low, mid or high distortion range settings. At low settings, the Classic creates lighter rock & roll tones like the sounds you would hear from Keith Richards or the cleaner side of Hendrix. In the mid-distortion range, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton type tones come alive. At the higher distortion settings, Eddie Van Halen to Eric Johnson type solo tones can be created while big chunky rhythm tones from Boston to ZZ Top to Deep Purple are also easily attained.

Equalization and Tonal Structure

The Tonebone Classic employs active post-distortion equalization for maximum flexibility. Tone shaping is performed with three controls and two switches thus allowing the guitarist to dial in the type of tonal structure that may be desired.

Overall shaping begins with the TOP-END control with choice of Dark, Normal or Bright settings which are used to compensate for the tonal characteristics of the amplifier. The FILTER control overlaps the high-end with a subtle roll-off to further compensate for overly bright amplifiers.

The MID-BOOST switch is used to fatten-up single coil pick-ups or to add 'meat' to the tone for additional cut during soloing. The Classic's mid-range frequencies have been carefully selected to work with popular amplifiers like Twins and Marshalls. These settings are extremely effective at compensating for 'clean' oriented channels on classic tube amplifiers.

LOOP BONE
•  Master control for pedal boards
• Insert & combine two separate effects loops
• Built-in variable gain power booster
• Unique Drag™ control pickup load correction
• Separate tuner output is always on
• SlingShot™ remote control output
• 100% discreet class-A circuit design
• Ultra-compact design – easy to use

The Radial Loopbone is a powerful effects loop controller for pedal boards that allows the guitar player to insert two separate pedal effects chains and remove them when not in use. This is particularly advantageous when using older pedals that tend to add noise and cause loading problems in the signal chain. The Loopbone incorporates a superb 'post effects' variable gain power booster that allows for straight signal boosting or post loop-1 or loop-2 boost for soloing.

To ensure the natural tone of the instrument is maintained, the Loopbone features Radial's unique Drag Control™ pickup load correction circuit that allows the guitarist to properly match the impedance load of any pedal board configuration with any guitar for optimum performance. Furthermore, there are no signal degrading op-amps or chips in the signal path, only 100% discreet components and Radial's highly acclaimed Class-A circuit for natural tone and exceptional dynamics.

Besides FX-loop switching, load matching and signal boost, the Loopbone brings even more to your pedal board: a separate 'always-on' tuner out circuit allows on-the-fly tuning without adding noise or load to your instrument signal, and perhaps the most innovative feature of all, Slingshot™. Slingshot is Radial's unique remote switching system that allows the Loopbone to simultaneously switch amplifier channels or other amp features or even another Slingshot equipped device, such as the Radial Headbone head switcher or Radial Cabbone speaker cabinet switcher. Check out ' The Power of Slingshot ' for details.

Designed as a ‘master control' for the pedal board, the Loopbone is compact, easy to use and adds tremendous control over the pedal board making it a ‘must have' for tone aficionados.

CAB BONE
•  Guitar amp speaker cabinet switcher
• Lets you toggle between two speaker cabinets
•   Digitally controlled relays with ramping overlap
• Slingshot™ remote-control switching

• SafeMode™ failsafe protection
• Works with tube and solid state amplifiers

The Cabbone is a guitar amplifier cabinet switcher that connects between an amp head and two cabinets to allow the guitarist to transition between say a Fender 2x12” open back to a Marshall 4x12” slant while using the same amplifier head.

Cabbone uses high-performance, high-cycling, gold contact relays to switch the amp's speaker output to either cabinet without adding color to the tone. To ensure safe, stable amplifier operation and smooth transitions, switching is controlled by a timer IC that manages a ramped connection overlap. This ensures a constant load on the output, a major concern with tube amplifiers. As a further safety measure, the Cabbone incorporates a power-off feature called SafeMode™ which automatically diverts the input signal to output-1 if the power supply is ever disconnected or turned off by mistake.

To reduce the ‘cable spaghetti' between the the amplifier, speakers, pedal board and back, Cabbone is equipped with a Slingshot™ input and output - Slingshot is Radial's easy to use remote control system that allows any footswitch to toggle switching of remote devices using just regular ¼” guitar cables. The Slingshot remote input can be controlled by either momentary or latching contact closure.

To add versatility, the Cabbone also incorporates a Slingshot output that can be used to remotely switch amp channels while switching cabinets. You could for instance connect the Slingshot remote output on the Radial Loopbone to toggle the Cabbone and go from a 2x12” open back to a 4x12” half-stack. Connecting the Slingshot output to the amp as well would allow you to change the amp channel at the same time, allowing each cabinet to have its own EQ and gain.

Add a Loopbone to the equation and with a single foot stomp you can introduce an effects loop, change speakers and change amp channels at the same time! Very cool! Now you can get those perfect tone combinations on stage quickly, and do it with one switch instead of a tap dance routine!

Like all Radial products, the Cabbone is built tough to handle the road: 14 gauge steel, baked enamel finish, high performance parts throughout. You get all of this in a compact enclosure that is ultra-quiet and completely transparent to the tone of your amp.

Cabbone – another creative tool for making better music from the Tonebone tone fanatics at Radial.
