Black Cat Moan

Rocktron’s new Black Cat Moan is a multi-functional wah pedal that offers extremely useful and musical features. Built-in germanium diodes provide a unique sweepable sonic effect (THE MOAN) that can act as a stand alone distortion and can be combined with the wah for an effect that cries harder and sweeter than a baby.
The Moan effect has been specifically designed for heavy distortion situations, although it can be used in all situations. The Moan effect will be most apparent when using a heavier distortion. The effect can sometimes be subtle depending on the natural harmonics of your guitar or bass.

The Black Cat Moan has a three position selector switch that allows you to choose one of three different wah voicing modes. While the Cat is an amazing tool for guitar players, the third mode, now get this, is "BASS" – yes – that is right – BASS! Plug this into a bass rig and you won’t believe how moanfully sweet it is!

A Wah ON/OFF switch is located under the toe of the rocker footpedal while a side "kicker" switch is used to turn the MOAN effect On or OFF. The MOAN can be used as a stand alone distortion or applied to the wah effect using the COMBINE MOAN/WAH switch.

Moan Level Control adjusts the overall output of the MOAN effect when the MOAN effect is activated. Moan Gain Control provides a mid-frequency band pass filter harmonic boost, but hey, we just call it MOAN!

Wah Type Selector Control allows you to select three different Wah modes – Normal, Classic and Bass. Once you have selected the Wah Type you can also further modify the sound by using the Moan gain and level controls.

A pedal rocker tension adjustment screw will allow you to adjust the "action" of the Black Cat Moan pedal to suit your taste – using an allen wrench.

Short Timer

Who would have thought that one day we would call a delay pedal: "retro"? Why only a short time ago, (no pun intended), the digital delay was considered the greatest effect invention a guitarist could get his hands on. Like everything else in "excess-laden" America, delays had to be longer and longer. To that, Rocktron says, "nuts". What if the player just wants to add some short, sweet, quick slapback-style delays to his sound? You remember slapbacks, don’t you? They ruled the 50’s and 60’s sound – think Rockabilly and Hot Rod and Surf music. Well, going out on a limb here, Rocktron introduces the Short Timer Retro Digital Delay. And some of you are going to think this is cool!

With two modes of delay, called (and we made this up), "Short" and "Shorter" to provide a wide range of quick delays that are still the most widely used delay times even in modern music, the Short Timer will NOT stand up to those long delays for length. But then, we don’t want it to. Some like it short and sweet.

The Level control on the Short Timer adjusts the overall volume of the delay effect. The Regeneration control adjusts the number of repetitions of delay effect. The Time control adjusts the length of delay and is used in conjunction with the Short/Shorter Switch. When the switch is out, (or in the Short position), the delay time in milliseconds is set between 200ms and 400ms. When the switch is in, (or in the Shorter position), the delay time in milliseconds is set between 0ms and 200ms. The actual delay time is then adjusted using the previously mentioned Time control.

Digital delay pedals usually sound better when placed after distortion. Thus, if you are using a distortion pedal, place the Short Timer after the distortion pedal in the signal chain. If you are using your amplifier’s distortion, try putting the Short Timer in the effects loop section of the amplifier, (following the instructions in your amp manual when using the effects loop).

For distorted rhythm playing, set the Short Timer Delay to "Shorter" and the delay level and regeneration levels low. For distorted lead playing, set the delay to "Short" and bump up the delay level and the regeneration level to your taste. For chicken-pickin type delay, set the delay level to "Shorter" and bump up the delay level and regeneration level slightly.

The Short Timer is built into Rocktron’s super tough road worthy extruded aluminum chassis. This pedal is equipped with a super bright blue LED so you will know when the pedal is on. The easy access battery compartment will make changing batteries during a gig a breeze. In the market for a delay? Check out the Short Timer!!

Metal Planet

Need metal? Take a ride on Rocktron’s high octane Metal Planet distortion pedal. Equipped with a 4 band EQ specifically designed for guitar distortion with separate level and distortion controls, the Metal Planet delivers the goods! The mid-frequency sweep allows for a wide range of tones from scooped heavy metal tones to more modern rock tones.

This pedal is not for the timid at heart – be ready for a heavy metal distortion unmatched by other pedals. The Level control adjusts the overall output of the distorted sound. The Low control adjusts the low-end frequencies and the High control adjusts the high-end frequencies. Middle control adjusts the mid frequencies bite of the distorted sound, while the Middle Frequency control adjusts the actual midrange EQ sweep. Use the Distortion control to adjust the amount of distortion in the signal.

Deep Blue

What is a guitar effects tool chest without a chorus? In a word: lacking. A chorus unit is standard gear in every player’s arsenal. With a ton of chorus units to choose from, Rocktron now makes the choice a little easier with the Deep Blue Chorus pedal.
Looking for a smooth, multi-voiced chorus, rich in depth and lush in intensity? Call on Deep Blue. Road rugged in Rocktron’s tough extruded aluminum chassis, the Deep Blue is an excellent addition to your effects.

A cool super bright blue LED will tell you when the pedal is on. The Rate control adjusts the speed of the modulation. Depth control adjusts the amount of modulation. Use the Intensity control to adjust the amount of chorus effect that is added to your signal – how much chorus do you want? It’s all here in a great package.

Chorus pedals usually sound better when placed after distortion in the signal chain. Thus, if you are using stomp boxes, put the Deep Blue pedal after the distortion. If using multiple pedals, such as delays and other modulation effects, try the Deep Blue in different parts of the signal chain until you find the sound you like best.

If you have an effects loop in your amplifier, try putting the chorus in the effects loop for a different sound; (just follow the instructions in your amplifier manual when connecting to your effects loop).

The Deep Blue has an easy access battery compartment, making changing batteries during a gig a breeze. Need a new chorus? Go DEEP.

Big Crush

Rocktron’s Big Crush is a compressor stomp box for guitar and bass. With performance engineered for low noise and super long sustain, the Big Crush will not compromise your tone. Unlike other compression pedals that can effect your tone and often "fuzz on" as the signal decays, the Big Crush will ring on like you want it to.
Controls include Level (to adjust the output), Attack (to adjust the amount of delay before compression occurs), and Sustain (for adjusting the amount of dynamic range limiting).

Players can achieve lusher and richer sounds when the Big Crush is combined with other effects such as chorus and flanger. When playing chords without distortion (clean), the sustain control helps all the strings become clearer and more distinct while the overall sound will ring with a similar volume level. The Big Crush will allow you to hear every note – great for today’s modern players using 7-string guitars or guitars with heavy gauge strings.

The basic idea behind a compressor is to make loud sounds softer and soft sounds louder, enabling you to avoid peaks in the sound and keep the volume even. For guitar, it is a consistent volume level across all strings. It also gives you more sustain. As a plucked string’s volume dies out, the Big Crush will provide automatic gain control to keep the volume of the note(s) at a consistent level. For bass it is recommended that you use a slower attack speed to avoid over-compression.

We recommend placing the Big Crush in your signal chain after the guitar or bass, but before and other processing. Thus, if you are using any other stomp boxes, put the Big Crush first, then followed by your distortion pedal, delay and so on.

The Big Crush features a super-bright blue LED, letting you know when the pedal is on. As with all Rocktron stomps, the Big Crush comes in a very tough road worthy extruded aluminum chassis. An easy-access battery compartment makes changing batteries a breeze.

Vertigo Rotating Vibe

Take a trip down the psychedelic path with Rocktron’s Vertigo Rotating Vibe pedal. Famous players like Hendrix and Robin Trower have used "vibes" to produce this awesome, dizzying effect.
There is nothing quite like this pedal for that "uni-vibe kinda voodu" attitude. Psychedelicize your sound and add a third dimension. You’ll wonder why you never used a vibe before. A little bit might make you woozy, and a lot might make you dizzy. But this unique effect needs to be in your toolbox.

The "VIBE" mode adds a new level of dynamic that puts the Vertigo in a class all by itself. When the "VIBE" mode is engaged the Vertigo Vibe changes the "character" of the rotation, producing the magical, voodoo Jimi sounds. Experiment here with clean and distorted sounds – you can certainly find your "own" tone!

When not in the "VIBE" mode the Vertigo produces a fast and slow "LESLIE" effect. However, unlike a Leslie cabinet the speed of the sweep is adjustable making the Vertigo Vibe an extremely versatile effect. And no having to hunt down those expensive and heavy Leslie cabinets.
The Active switch turns on or off the effect. Pressing the Rate/Fast switch will automatically change the rate of the sweep from where the Rate control is set to the pre-determined "FAST" rate in the same fashion a Leslie cabinet ramps from slow to fast. The benefit here, as opposed to a Leslie, is YOU get to determine the final slow speed with the Rate control. The Rate control adjusts the overall rate of the Vertigo Vibe. A Rate/Fast LED will flash to show the rate sweep. The Depth control adjusts the overall depth of sweep. Level control adjusts the overall level of the effect. Pressing the Vibe Mode switch activates the Vibe mode. The Vibe LED will light when the Vibe Mode is active.

Housed in Rocktron’s road rugged extruded aluminum chassis, the Vertigo is ready to handle the road action.

Austin Gold Overdrive

Brush the dust off your boots and get ready to plug into one awesome Overdrive pedal as the Austin Gold joins Rocktron's pedal family.
Rough, tough and rugged, like all the pedals in the Rocktron line, the Austin Gold is "road-ready".

Within the eye-popping gold case is a superb blend of light overdrive that enhances, without changing, the sound of your favorite amp.

Unique to the Austin Gold is its "Pre-Bass" control. Other typical overdrive pedals have a fixed value which cannot be altered. But the Austin's Pre-Bass control eliminates problems with too much "fuzzy" bass, or the opposite problem of being a weak and thin sounding overdrive.

With the Pre-Bass control, many overdrive textures can be exploited. It's almost like having an entire arsenal of various overdrive pedals in one, by simply adjusting one control!

With its simple control layout of "Drive", "Pre-Bass" and "Level", the Austin Gold is very simple to use. By adding a maximum of 30dB of gain, it will not overprocess, but instead will add an entirely new dimension to your amp setup!

Want to breath new life into your favorite amp? Grab the Gold ! ! !

Rocktron HUSH

Rocktron’s HUSH noise reduction needs no introduction. With HUSH the standard in almost all touring rigs worldwide, now you can tap into the same great circuitry on the floor and wipe out hiss, pickup buzz and unwanted feedback! The HUSH pedal delivers 65dB of signal cleanup, while your music signal integrity remains unaffected. In other words, get rid of the noise without altering your tone!

Guitar Player Magazine wrote that the “HUSH Pedal will work for all guitar-related noise problems: it’s perfect” and “its potent noise-killing abilities will be fully appreciated.” Simply plug the HUSH in after distortion boxes, wah-wahs, noisy vintage effects, or other noisy units and turn the Threshold knob until the noise goes away. It’s that easy! You will not find a more effective noise reduction. Unlike noise "gates" that chop off the end of your notes, or ruin your sustain, HUSH the Pedal is actually a form of single-ended noise reduction that tracks your signal all the way and pushes the noise floor below the point where your ear can hear the noise. It does not hurt your sustain or chop off the end of your notes. Simply use the Threshold knob to smooth out your signal while wiping out noise. This is the best friend a guitar player could have !

Banshee Amplified Talk Box

In a jam? Talk your way out of it with Rocktron's new Banshee Amplified Talk Box.

Bringing a cool, new twist to the outdated generation of complicated and risky talk boxes, the Banshee is a unique new product that gives classic rock touches to the 90's players. Although "talk boxes" have been used in the making of hit music (Aerosmith, Frampton, Joe Walsh, etc.) for years, many guitar players simply do not try them because of their complicated and potentially damaging setup.

Leave it to the stomp box gurus at Rocktron. The Banshee rocks, simply and safely.

What makes the Banshee so unique is that it contains its own internal preamp, amplifier, and horn driver. You simply plug into your existing pedal board and run the provided "tubing" up the mic stand and into your mouth. The rest is up to your own imagination as you get the most incredible sounds from your instrument. And no more risk of blowing up your favorite amp head, (always a possibility with talk boxes of old).

The Banshee's preamp section features controls for gain, tone, and output level. A wide range of clean and dirty preamp tones may be dialed in with plenty of saturation for those who desire lots of gain.

Not only does the Banshee scream in the talkbox mode, but Rocktron has also included an extra jack for hookup with an extension pedal speaker. Plugging a speaker cabinet to this output turns your pedal board into a perfect practice setup with enough volume to do some pretty serious cranking!

Get your hands on the most unique product in years and let your creative juices flow!
