The Dual Drive

The ProAnalog Dual Drive  features a smoking dual op-amp circuit that no one has ever heard before.  It has more clean headroom, overdrive, transparency, richness, versatility and flexibility than most 2 or 3 pedals put together that are available on the market today.  Designed to keep the fidelity of your guitar and amp signal, for practical gig and recording levels as well as not to be guitar, amp or pedal fussy.  Plug in a strat to an AC30, and sounds like it should.  It doesn't cloud or murk up your signal, add unwanted compression, muddy lows or shave off high end or get in the way of your amps compression.
No graininess or mid hump like in other overdrives on the market.  It uses 2 Mullard germanium PNP transistors in both channels, Scotty's forte'!  The pedal also features a pull pot on the "bite" control to kick in the Mullard transistors for a fat boost (Pull Phat) that turns this pedal into a very touch responsive beast (something the others out there do not do)!

Drive Channel is big, bold, beautiful harmonics, swirling feedback, even EQ definition from low to high, singing top end, warm and woman like midrange, phat and tight bottom to OVER the top gain, are just some of the words to describe the overdrive channel.  I'm pretty much speechless in describing it... ;-)

Clean channel is sweet, articulate, touch responsive and transparent.  The players guitar volume knob, when used, interacts extremely well with this pedal into your amp.  Cleans up great, doesn't lose signal or high end and has a range of tones that's not common to most, experienced in using overdrive pedals live or in the studio.

Sound Clip #3 Telecaster and Marshall 18 Watt Amp2

Pedal can be operated on 9VDC, 12VDC or 18VDC adapters!
When this overdrive is running on higher voltages, the frequency spectrum, touch sensitivity and harmonics are retained, but the pedal becomes, thicker,  richer, fuller and meatier as you increase the voltage.  No signal loss or uneven sharpness in EQ peaks, brittle highs or muddy lows. The tone and EQ range are retained, but you get a thicker, bolder Dual Drive with a touch more headroom.

Past experiences for players is that most IC based overdrives/distortion/fuzz pedals have the "IC" sound.  Well throw all of that out the window cuz now there is a new legendary clean boost/overdrive about to render most others obsolete!

Controls are level , drive , bark (mid) and bite (treble, pull phat ), 2 channels, 2 footswitches for true bypass, clean and overdrive. One blue or purple LED for the bypass and a green/red for the clean channel and overdrive channels.  Aluminum enclosure, silver capped Marshall knobs, wear resistant, laser etched, metal faceplate, DC power supply or battery operated and a whole lotta tone!

Dirt Royale w/cheeze

Another 2 footswitch pedal like the Dual Drive, but this one is overdrive, high gain distortion and fuzztone feel all in one pedal! Input IMP is 1meg, output IMP is 10K and features output stage buffering (gangs with all pedz out there), true bypass and has 2 5mm LED's for bypass and cheeze. Clear water purple for bypass, RED for cheeze.

Controls are:
Gain "pull phaze" (sets the input gain)

FEED (new original design by Scotty)

Tone (very smooth and articulate bass to treble control, mids are flat)

Level (sets the output level)

The tone and feel of this pedal is hard to describe, it's quite unique and musical. If anyone has had experience with a really good sounding early "tone" knob RAT 1977-81, it lends itself to that sort of distortion tone, but mix in some crunchy OD, higher gain distortion and the feel and response of a germanium fuzz and you'll get what I'm talking about. The "cheeze" switch is high gain (distortion tone) and the magic of this pedal all starts with the "FEED" control and "pull phaze". The FEED is a variable feed output design that shifts from the "tone" circuit as you increase it, blending it with the silicon output transistor.

A Mullard germanium OC series is used in the FEED circuit, resulting in 2 different sounds, modern and and old school Ge fuzz/distortion response! Increasing the FEED shifts EQ, brings in more saturation, harmonics, low end and compression. Depending upon your guitar and amp setup, the result can be very subtle to very dramatic.
I think the beauty of this pedal is that you can really tweak it to get the tones you desire. You can set it up for vintage style tones ala 1960's 70's and get a modern high gain, darker, edgier tones as well. Testing this circuit with various tube amplifiers, the Dirt Royale really shines cathode follower amps, ala Marshall, Vox and Matchless style. It also loves boost pedals before or after it, especially the Power Driver
