Halo Chorus
Now shipping! Announced at winter NAMM 2006, the Halo Chorus is a new combination delay/pitch modulation/phase modulation chorus design with autoconfigurable I/O for mono, mono in/stereo out, and stereo in/stereo out operation.
Click here for our first MP3 clip of the Halo Chorus, demonstrating Halo controls all set at around 1 to 2 o'clock on the dials. The guitar used is a new American 70's Strat, info the Halo Chorus, then left channel out to a Fender Custom Shop Vibroverb reissue and right channel to a Marshall 1974x reissue. The sample starts with a stereo recording of the two dry amps, then the Halo switches in for the remainder of the sample.
This second MP3 sample demonstrates the Halo with a Boss EV-5 expression pedal controlling the LFO speed. This sample used a Tele into the Halo into a silver face Fender Princeton Reverb and the Marshall 1974x reissue. This sample has the Halo on throughout its duration.
parallel combination of delay / pitch modulation and phase modulation gives versatile control over modulation effects from light chorusing to deep 'vibey' swirl
stereo operation gives wide stereo image spread while preserving the original guitar tone
NOS MN3007 analog bucket brigade chip running at 15V rails for extended headroom
dual opto 'vibe' phase modulation path also running at 15V rails
all analog circuitry
autoconfigures for mono, mono in / stereo out, and stereo in / stereo out operation
pure sinusoidal LFO using a dedicated function generator IC for smooth modulation with variable 'SPEED' and chorus pitch modulation depth 'CH DEPTH'
'CH MIX' and 'PM MIX' controls allows independent control of chorus and phase modulation mix levels in both mono and stereo configurations
kill-dry switch for parallel FX loop operation or use of chorus path for pure vibrato
mono input signal passed through to both outputs on bypass
phase switch to invert phase of right channel output relative to left
LED indication of LFO speed
expression pedal control of LFO speed
same Vishay JFET / audiophile BurrBrown opamp signal path as in Memory Lane delay
telecom grade relay switched true bypass operation on all inputs and outputs
internally regulated to 15V, can be run from provided 24V adapter or from 18V pedal board power supply outputs (including Y-cable powering from 2 9V outputs on the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 Plus)
genuine Hammond cast aluminium 4.7 x 4.7 x 1.0 inch case

Memory Lane
Memory Lane, not just the street name where our workshop is located,
it's also the name of our new true bypass analog delay.
As you can probably guess already, this isn't your typical analog delay.
The Memory Lane has a number of innovations that bridge the feature
gap between analog and digital delays while retaining the warmth and
unique sound of bucket brigade delay devices in an all analog signal path.
Offering up to 550 ms delay time, tempo can be set either by dial
or by foot tap switch. When you don't need foot control of tempo, you
can use the second foot switch as an on/off switch for the modulation
feature simply by switching the small feature' toggle switch from 'tap'
to 'mod'.
Listen to more Memory Lane and other Diamond Guitar Pedal audio
samples here .
Feature List:
- 550 ms approx analog delay time using
2 NOS MN3005's running at 15V
- tap tempo footswitch control of analog delay time,
OR footswitchable modulation on/off:
'feature' switch allows selection of footswitch for either
tap tempo operation or modulation on/off
- vibrato modulation depth and speed controls
- tilt EQ in delay / feedback path provides subtle control
over frequency spectrum of repeats (from increasingly
dark repeats to flat to increasingly bright repeats)
- 'kill-dry' delay only output for amplifiers with
parallel effect loops
- inserting cable into delay only output jack automatically
removes delay signal from mix output giving separate
direct only and delay only outputs
- true bypass operation for mix/direct output
- pristine signal paths using premium opamps,
polypropylene caps and metal film resistors
- expression pedal input to control feedback level
- ability to use standard 1/4" stereo to two 1/4"
mono insert cable in expression pedal input to insert
an effect or chain of effects into the feedback loop
(can also be used to insert a standard volume pedal
as feedback control)
- LED flashes for visual feedback of delay time
- self-oscillating feedback path with ability to shape
via feedback EQ in realtime
- analog voltage supply internally regulated to 15V for
low noise operation and increased headroom in line level
effect loops
- rugged genuine Hammond aluminum diecast enclosure
- DC adapter included

Compressor
Recording studios often use rackmount 'vocal channels'
- a mic preamp, compressor, and EQ all in one unit as a front end for vocal recording.
The Diamond Compressor is our take on a 'guitar channel'
- a dynamics and tone shaping tool for live and studio use - with low-noise, ultra-linear
signal buffering, smooth opto-based compression, and a versatile 'tilt' EQ that musically
shifts overall frequency balance.
All in a user-friendly 3-control package - just Comp, EQ and Volume.
- Vactrol opto-isolator variable resistance path as used in
high-end studio compressors for smooth attack and decay
characteristics while preserving initial signal transients.
- Premium audio components, including 2% polypropylene
capacitors,1% metal film resistors and a pro audio grade
opamp (our signal path opamp alone costs 8 to 10 times
what the industry norm uses).
- Post-compressor 'tilt' EQ provides a very musical
tailoring of frequency response - seamlessly transition
from a darker jazz voicing to a brighter jangle,
with flat frequency response at the center detent position.
- Double filtering stage in side chain to eliminate
low frequency modulation while preserving fast
compression response.
- Dual AC capacitive coupling paths for improved
transient response.
- Bi-color LED provides visual indication of depth
of compression.
- True bypass signal path.
- Battery or standard negative tip 9V DC
adapter operation, can be powered from
9 to 24 V negative tip.

Fireburst
Thick saturated fuzz with amazing amounts of low-end - the Fireburst.
To add to its utility, we put in a unique, footswitchable mid-boost eq
and pre/post gain circuit that snaps the fuzz into focus and
turns the Fireburst into a tightly focused distortion pedal.
The fuzz and distortion gain and mid-boost eq circuits are all discrete
component, while we use an audiophile grade opamp for an active
Baxandall bass/treble control. The bass and treble controls act
independently at extended frequency extremes (<150 Hz and > 3 kHz),
allowing for some very interesting post-distortion tonal shaping.
