Great Article on New Orleans Guitars

New Orleans Voodoo Custom #60802

Another incredible instrument period. Do these guitars get any better we think NOT. You pick it up and you know this is just pureeeeee quality. Wonderful piece very classic look and feel. The playability is just to die for perfect action, neck and playability all the way thru. TREMENDOUS Vincent builds some of the finest neck thru guitars we feel in the world. Plug it in and it can only described as a piano. EVERY note has clarity you just dont hear guitars like this. This is an instrument !

One of the really nice aspects of this model is the carved back. Not only does it reduce the overall weight of the guitar but it also presents the fretboard in a very ergonomic position and forces the guitar to hang at the correct location between the shoulders. Nice for long gigs !

5 piece neck through design is by far the most straight foward and stable way to build a guitar but involves a lot of hand joinery. This alone is the reason that few manufactures use this type of design, but well worth the effort !

New Orleans bind the fretboards and headstocks in quartersawn hardwoods. This is considerably reduces the absobption of fretboard materials producing a more stable playing surface. The hardwood binding is also far less suseptable to the normal shrinkage associated with plastic bindings. The tops are carved from 3/4" thick stock that is chosen for its figure and density. The extra thick top plays a major role in producing an instrument that has a very individual tonal character

The Voodoo Custom was designed to be the ultimate solid body workhorse for the pro musicians !
