Radiohead Gets It – How come these guys get it and no one in the record industry seems to? First they put their record out on a donation basis and the plan is a smash success. Now they are having a remix contest where you get certain pre-mixed tracks and submit your remix for online voting. How invigorating to the music public! Maybe the proof of success is in their servers crashing from the crush of visitors interested, curious, passionate and fanatical about music! Hello Sony, Warners, and anyone else who still has a job in the record industry why can’t you do stuff like this? Radiohead Remix Site

They don’t “get it”- charging “per stem”, i.e $5 per song for the honor of remixing it while NIN gives you their tracks for free to mix however way you want… When you read Reznor’s opinion about Radiohead’s marketing tactics… you’ll definitely see them differently.
