The Act Of Guitar Tone

What is this thing we call tone ? You know the crazy thing is you ask 10 guitar guys and you will get 10 different answers, and what they will tell you is "What is Tone" TO THEM ! That's right to them, it's not definative it's just what they hear and what moves them, motivates them, and gives them the ahh feeling. One guy might want to hear a Marshall British Blues tone with some grind ala Clapton, another might want a clear bell like tone like SRV, another wants tons of stacked guitar gained distortion per Metalica, another just wants that mid-range honking overdrive like Jeff Beck. That would be me, I just the midrange wah cocked guitar tone from hell, it just feels right to me. It makes me want to play for hours, give me a tight chicken picking tone and I am done in 5 minutes.

So we have stated guitar tone is different to all players. It should motivate you or show an feeling your trying to portray or enhance your playing but most important it MOST DO SOMETHING. It inspires you to play the guitar! So we have all this gear, and your on a journey to find the tones that push you and make you want to just play the guitar for hours. Like your guitar hero's and most importantly like you.
