Jackass? Well I wasn´t insulting anybody in my comments, certainly not you, so take a deep breath and don´t get yer diaper in a twist.
If you think it´s bullshit, run home to Mommy and tell her ok. Comments or opinions are just that. Sometimes good sometimes critical. If you wanna go and plaster high esteem over JB then go ahead, I don´t care; you gonna anyway! I bet P. Ode has got a poster of him over his bed, where he´s doing one of his "microtonal bends" !! ;-) Don´t take this so serious ok.

To M. Ford (gosh i hope M. Ford sees this)

I wanted to be nice and diplomatic to M. Ford, but i changed my mind right before i typed this. You are such an ill-informed jackass that you seriously should take astep back and reconsider EVER submitting anything to anything again.

I love how people can confidently spew some asinine BS and excuse themselves by saying "just my opinion."

Do you hear Joe's microtonal bends, his vibrato, his phrasing, his tone? If you can't hear Joe's individuality and uniqueness within the blues-rock idiom, then you are a jackass. Wait...I already knew you're a jackass.

Joe certainly has a Warren Haynes like sound and style to him but he holds his own. In my opinion no one really is re-inventing the wheel out there as far guitar playing goes. Someone else has already been there, done that. The late, great Tom Dowd thought the world of Joe's playing and style and Tom was no slouch. After all, Tom produced so many of the greatest "guitar" albums of our time. All in all, Joe enjoys a level of success that nearly all of us shall never see and that speaks for itself. While he has exposure, fame and endorsements we pay out of pocket for our boutique gear and book our gigs at the local bars and gin joints.

In reply to M. Ford.....

ummmm....wow.....he doodle-daddles?

I think Joe does a fine job of processing his influences and turning it into emotional, textured blues playing. I love Stevie Ray....but please don't tell me he is ALL original. Freddie King and Buddy Guy are all over Stevie Ray's style. Any guitar player worth his salt is a product of his influences...and hopefully...puts out his original take on those influences. To say JB is not musical or entertaining......is either baiting for a response hear....or just incredibly nieve.

Take a leap of faith and go see Joe live. His cd's have not captured what Joe is really all about IMHO.

I don´t understand why everyone´s plastering so much hype over this guy.
He´s doing nothing that hasn´t been done before; I´ve seen much more innovation in some local European club bands here in Europe.. I have hardly listened to one of JB´s CD´s from start to finish; just got on my nerves; all this doodle-daddle lead solo showing off, without actually doing anything really musical or entertaining! All I hear when he plays is, just bits an´ pieces from other long gone musicians; nothing "new"; boring to say the least, with a complete lack of respect for his mentors. I cannot understand why everyones making such a hero out of him..!!?? Now when I hear Hendrix, or any of the Kings, or Stevie Ray; now that´s what I call Blues Music. I can listen to that all day, every day.
Just my opinion ok.
Cheers!

Joe is, at this point, can proudly wear the mantle of a rapidly
maturing bastard guitar-child of Warren Haynes. And I mean
that in the most respectful way.
