The Passing of Bo Diddley – This morning I read with great sadness the passing of guitar and rock icon Bo Diddley. I had the pleasure of hangin with Bo when I worked at My Fathers Place in NY, Thanksgiving Day 1987. It was just him and I in the dressing room that early evening for about an hour or two as he told me story after story of his life, his grand-kids, fishing, drinking and on and on. He was a great guy what I remember most was he was just funny. The guy could make you crack up, one story after another. We ALL owe Bo a tremendous debt, everytime you play a blues or R-n-R song there is a little of Bo in there with Chuck, BB, and Muddy down the line.
