Jimi Hendrix Memorial Day Tribute
– Filmed New Years 1969 Jimi makes a nice tribute to all the solidiers in the US and Viet Nam. Even though Jimi was discharged from the Army he was a Veteran of the 82nd Airborne so he had a first hand experience of the Military. He used that experience in songs such as Machine Gun and the Star Spangled Banner with his sonic recreations of war and battle. Jimi was the counter-culture but he was x-military which makes him an unique American as well as musician. A salute to my Grand-Father and Father two incredible veterans I was privledged to know.
