Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage - Saw this on VH1 Classic the other night and it just brought back so many great memories for me. Rush had lost a place in my heart over the years (or maybe I had just lost my way with Rush) but this movie showed and proved how important this band was for me. After renting it on Netfliks I have watched it over 5 times and have even converted my 15 yr old to a Rush head. The movie is so great on so many levels. The buddy feature is something I wasn’t prepared for: the 3 of them have been just best friends since they were 12 ! True friendship is evident as you go thru the Peart tragedy and it starts to show in the music as well. The documentary takes you thru the rock years, the prog years, the synth years, and their eventual full circle back. Rush is without a doubt music like no other! As Gene Simmons says “What kind of music is it ? It’s Rush music!” That sums it up. Love the band, hate the band: you will love this movie !!! Click for Hot Licks

Last Days for Xmas Shopping – Wow we are down to final weekend for Xmas shopping it seems like it really went fast this year didn’t it ? If you want to get a relative, loved one, or “yourself” a gift for the holidays you really need to get it in this weekend.
