Posted : February 25th, 2010 by toyzRoy Buchanan and the rain – Another tale from my past this week, 1988 I was working at a club called My Fathers Place’s located in Roslyn, NY the home to 100s of gig’s by music’s top entertainer’s thru it’s 15 yr history. It was a friday night and it was absolutely POURING OUT ! You couldn’t see the other side of the street it was raining that hard.

Bo Diddley and Thanksgiving – In 1987, on Thanksgiving Bo Didley was set to play the club and I got a call to go down and open early so Bo had a place to hang. Remember it’s Thanksgiving everything is closed in NY and he checked out of his hotel at 1 in NYC! So I went down about 5 opened up, turned the heat on, got the dressing cleaned and in comes Bo with his Manager. I shake his hand and the manager’s and tell them the heat is kicking in, can I do anything else for you ? . Bo sit’s down looks tiried, the manager a woman by the way said she was going somewhere I don’t really remember and left.

What is a pedalboard ? – What is a pedalboard ? – A pedalboard or effects board is something that is so many things to so many people. It really is what we want it to be or better yet what we are trying to accomplish with it actually. One guitar player maybe a basic blues guy with a overdrive pedal, wah-wah and a delay pedal..that’s it ! The next guy might be a noize type player with 6 fuzz pedals, compressors, 2 delays, octave pedal, a micro synth, volume pedal etc. There both pedalboards but they are trying to accomplish two totall different things. Walking Tour of Electro Harmonix

Turns out that EHX also manufacturers a huge percentage of the world’s vacuum tubes in its factory in Russia, which are then sent back to New York for testing and pairing before being sold to vintage and high-end audio fans, as well as manufacturers like McIntosh. Very cool video showing the inside of the factory the crazy place built by Mike Matthews ! Click on photo for Video ! |
