A/DA Final Phase

Posted : February 23rd, 2010 by toyz

New From A/DA! – The 2009 Reissue A/DA Final Phase is designed by the original designers of the late 1970s A/DA Final Phases using very similar parts and exactly the same parts in the all-analog signal path. Musictoyz was lucky enough to get one of the first batches of Final Phases and there are still some left! The FINAL PHASE is capable of producing a very broad range of sound colorations, dramatically enhancing the effect of any amplified musical instrument, voice or percussive instrument. If your pedalboard lacks some sonic color, it might be time for the A/DA Final Phase! The Final Phase is in stock and ready for shipping!

Earthquaker Devices Monarch OD and Ghost Echo Reverb

Posted : February 22nd, 2010 by toyz

New From Earthquaker Devices! – Musictoyz has some new pedals from Earthquaker Devices. The Ghost Echo Reverb and The Monarch Overdrive: an all discrete, FET based dirt machine. It’s designed around the input stage of a vintage amp produced by a company that bears the same name as the color of the monarch (hint…). It’s been configured to produce higher gains that sound very natural and free of compression. The treble and bass controls function as frequency boosters, not the traditional roll off filters in most OD’s. They are located in the preamp section and have a large impact on the over all tone, nature and distortion characteristics of the pedal as well as your amp. It gives big bottom end with a snappy, bright top at all gain ranges with some careful tuning of the tone controls. Check out both on our Earthquaker page!

“That Great Gretsch Sound!”

Posted : February 16th, 2010 by toyz

New From Gretsch Guitars! – “For more than 100 years Gretsch has developed what came to be known as “That Great Gretsch Sound,” but it all began with a young German immigrant in Brooklyn. At 27, Friedrich Gretsch founded a small musical instrument shop 1883 to make banjos, drums and tambourines. Only 12 years later Friedrich died, leaving the fledgling company in the hands of his teenage son Fred. While it may be an unlikely start for a century-long (and growing) musical legacy, young Fred wasn’t the typical teen. By 1916 he had built the company into one of America’s leading importers and manufacturers of musical instruments, and the operations moved into a 10-story building at 60 Broadway in Brooklyn.
Fred knew listening to what the public wanted was the key to growth, and the public wanted guitars. So, Gretsch began making guitars.”
