He's "ever womern's dream, and ever jealous husband's nightmare." He's UNKNOWN HINSON.
Unknown Hinson is part poet, part predator, part result of a polluted, semi-civilized gene pool. The self-proclaimed "King of Country Western Troubadours" is the most original thing to happen to music - Country or otherwise - in decades.
Hinson's background is sketchy (he's a product of the rough South and did time in sideshows on the Midway), but his music and his message are undeniably clear: "Rawk is the devil's music. You youngerns need to burn yer hippy rawk
rakkerds, and learn how to act by listening to the chart-toppin' message of my lyrics and show-stoppin' sound of my guitar playin'."
Unknown's cult following is as unique as his sound. Classic rockers, ironic slackers, Gen-Y'ers and Country fans are all among the Hinson devoted. Says Hinson, "The ears and eyeholes of all my adorin' dumb yougern fans ooze with
pleasure when they hear me play my chart-toppin' songs."
For years, Unknown has been revolting, mesmerizing and entertaining fans at his live concerts throughout the Southeast. He's played for crowds of 200 and 3000. Some go to a Hinson concert to take in his insanity and some go to marinate in Unkown's bombastic and strangely witty rants…but all go to hear him rawk, because, despite Unknown's unwavering hatred of "communist hippy rawk," he does concede to play the devil's music during his concerts, "just to show the
youngerns that it don't take no talent to play that mess." And with that disclaimer, Unknown Hinson, invoking the spirits of Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townshend and Dracula, unleashes a stunning, mind-blowing eruption of guitar insanity that shocks and rocks both the quick and the dead.
Unknown Hinson: a living contradiction - he's a moralist, yet his criminal record is epic. He screams about the evils of drugs, but he swears by his "party liquor." He's God's gift to women, but he's been slapped with countless restraining orders. And he's the "King of Country-Western Troubadours," but his rock guitar is unequalled.
His first Capitol Records product is in the marketplace. "Rock'n'Roll Is Straight From Hell" is a 6-song EP that'll give you a damn gooder'n hell intro to the UNKNOWN world. Rumor has it that Capitol will release a full-length Unknown Hinson CD in the spring of 2004. It's gonna be sick. A good sick. Just like you, and everyone else who's been infected by THE greatest singer/song-writer/vigilante/MoralArmyOfOne of our day.
Unknown Hinson, this gifted spawn of the South has been unleashed on the world. Consider yourself warned... and very lucky to be a part of it...
Stay tuned... there will be more, much more... bigger, better, blown up UNKNOWN HINSON in 2004... he's just gettin started...
- the future is UNKNOWN.
